Yarmouth Christmas Festival
Nov 29th, 2009 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseThe little fishing village of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight will come alive with twinkling lights and festive music in December, giving visitors the chance to indulge in some last minute gift shopping and festive dining.
The festivities begin on Thursday 10th December with a Seasonal Farmers Market in Pier Square, where local producers will be selling tasty Christmas treats and crafts. The village will be awash with Christmas lights as dusk falls, when children from the local school will be winding through the streets with a magical lantern parade.
On Friday 11th at 6pm, ‘Ghost Man’ Mark Tuckey will be conducting an entertaining walk and talk around Yarmouth, telling tales of ghoulish deeds from days goneby…. And to top it all off, on Saturday 12th December, join Father Christmas, the Slipshod Singers, the school choir, and the Salvation Army at 6pm by the Christmas Tree for Carol singing, mulled wine and hot chestnuts.
With late night shopping, music and festive menus on offer in the pubs and restaurants throughout the three days, the Yarmouth Christmas Festival is well worth a visit!
