At around 1.30am, the three friends were walking along South Street, towards the bus station after a night out.
As they reached the delivery gates to Morrisons supermarket, they were approached by a woman who assaulted one of the friends, a 19-year-old, and caused both her and her 18-year-old friend to fall to the ground.
The 19-year-old suffered bruising to her right eye.
The suspect is described as: White 5ft 7ins tall aged between 19 and 20-years-old, slim to skinny build with a thin face, blonde or brown hair to below the shoulders and was wearing a white sweat shirt style hooded top with no logo and a front pocket.
