Witness Appeal After Shalfleet Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash on the A3054 near Shalfleet on the Isle of Wight. Officers were called to the scene shortly after 9am Thursday following reports of a collision between a blue Vauxhall Corsa and silver Mitsubishi Galant.

Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Isle of Wight Fire Service also attended the scene.

The male driver of the Corsa, aged 25 from Yarmouth, and his two female passengers aged 26 and 29, also from Yarmouth, sustained serious injuries and were taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

The female driver of the Galant – a 23-year-old from Calbourne – also sustained serious injuries and has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital.

The A3054 was closed at Shalfleet and at the junction with Pound Lane for several hours while officers investigated the circumstances of the crash.
