Eight Isle of Wight organisations have been awarded Wightmark Awards for piloting a special framework for working with children and families.

The Wightmark Awards covers areas such as safety, resources and customers, and sets standards designed to be challenging but achievable for small organisations.

Organisations securing the Wightmark Award (pictured) can benefit from having the Award logo attached to their details on the WightChYPS website www.wightchyps.org.uk

The eight groups were: Home-Start IOW, Families First IOW, YMCA, Natural Solutions, Wight Diamond Marching Band, GirlGuiding Carisbrooke and South Wight District, the Isle of Wight Industrial Training Group and the Pavilion East Cowes.

The special quality assurance has been developed by the Isle of Wight Rural Community Council and the voluntary and community sector on the Island. The framework has been endorsed by the Children’s Trust.
