Wight Sole Walking Group

Aug 1st, 2008 | By Jenny Button | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Wight Sole is a group of walkers based on the Isle of Wight. The group is aimed at 20s, 30s and 40s, although we’re not ageist and welcome anyone who’s keen on walking in a relaxed atmosphere.

We try to arrange a walk every three weeks, generally on Sundays, but also include some social or evening walks particularly in the summer.

The walks are generally between 5 and 10 miles, taken at a gentle pace and often involve a visit to a pub (or two). Most walks are on the Island, often in little visited places, so they are a great way to discover new areas. They occasionally visit the mainland to meet up with other local Young Ramblers groups.

Weds 20th Aug  Evening Walk – to Sandown for a drink or snack and back again. Approx 4 miles.
Sunday 31st Aug  4 terrain walk and Ryde – a walk of wood, marsh, coast and hill. Finish at Brading Station and train back to Ryde. Lunch on the beach somewhere! Packed lunch. About 10 miles.
