The impact of the credit crunch and economic downturn in the national economy means that the council needs to budget and make savings in order to keep council tax increases to a minimum.

The newly launched Isle of Wight Council online budget simulator, challenges users to find savings, either through reducing spend or increasing charges of at least £5m.

You can also identify your own spending priorities and see the effects those decisions would have on services and on council tax rises.
