A big pedal challenge took place this weekend on the Isle of Wight, in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Eighteen teams of fundraisers took their seats on a Big Bike and rideout in four locations across the Island.

This event follows last years World’s Biggest Bicycle event (see video below) and promises to be a good spectator event.  This year provides a carnival like atmosphere and will see more people in fancy dress from pirates, school uniforms, parrot, football team, Hawaiian theme, Belly dancers, men in drag and individual costumes…all not to be missed!!

Hot off the Press: Spectators Could Get A Chance To Ride The Big Bike Too!
Charity Bikes  are bringing the Big Bike to the Island from Sheffield, and we hear, there may be some places available on the 2pm & 4.15pm Big Bike rideouts in Sandown and and Yarmouth.

If there are spare seats available on the day, they will be offered for a nominal fee.  For health and safety, children have to be 10 years of age and taller than 5′2″ to be able to ride. Why not come along and support this worthwhile cause and have some fun at the same time.

Saturday 26th July 8.30am-12.30pm Ryde Seafront and in the afternoon 1pm Sandown Zoo.
Sunday 27th July 9am Cowes Egypt Parade and from 1pm onwards Yarmouth, starting from Pier Square.

Please note above times could be subject to change. Anyone still interested in taking part can contact Sue on 407723, or the hospice fundraising team on 528989.
