Citizen Journalism
Citizen Journalists Required for Island Pulse.
Island Pulse is unique as being the first dedicated to citizen journalism on the Isle of Wight, and with the help of the community the website could grow to play a major role as a prominent online information provider for the entire Island.
Whilst writing the News is second nature to trained journalists, we at the Island Pulse actively encourage our readers to do it too. We are looking for contributors who would like to act as reporters in their chosen area, where they live, or would be arts critics who would like to have their say on the latest films, books or music.
As a community social enterprise, Team Island Pulse welcome shared experiences and successes, where ordinary people can write the news, get their pictures posted and express their views on any topic relating to Island life live on the internet.
We hope to advance the understanding and use of the internet for the benefit of both the individual and the Isle of Wight Community as a whole.
Benefits to the Community already include:
Broadcast and provide information of general interest about the Isle of Wight.
Acting as a communications portal on issues of interest and value to the Community.
Provide a vehicle for individuals and special interest groups to broadcast their activities.
Enable local business/organizations to advertise/communicate local Island products and services.
It’s relatively simple to send in articles or pictures, especially via e-mail and suitable stories may also be picked up for possible publication in existing Island press.
Words and images will be with us forever, it is individual ingenuity that will deliver it.
