Walk The Wight 2012 Photos & Video

Well done to everyone who enjoyed the warm sunny weather and donned walking boots, trainers and stilts to walk, run and bounce their way across the Isle of Wight for Walk the Wight 2012.

Thousands of walkers put their best foot forward, with many doing the whole 26.5 mile from Bembridge in the East to Alum Bay Needles in the West. 

Over 10,000 people took part in the annual charity walk in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice www.iwhospice.org Walkers of all ages took part with lot’s of them going the extra mile and sporting fancy dress.

The Isle of Wight Photo Agency www.wightphoto.com were there to officially capture the event from start to finish. With the help of 11 photographers from the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group www.iwdig.org.uk over 2,800 photos are now available to view in galleries of: Bembridge, Brading, Carisbrooke, Flat Walk, Flat Walk Finish, Freshwater start of Schools Walk the Wight, Tennyson Down, Alum Bay & Finish Line.

Also capturing the spirit of the day was a team from Switched-on Multimedia www.switched-on.tv who were out capturing the official event DVD which is also raising money for the hospice. The video clip below is just a taster of what’s been caught on film.
