Video: Watoto Childrens Choir Visit To Isle of Wight
Jan 26th, 2009 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse
The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda arrived on the Isle of Wight last Tuesday and performed in schools and churches during their week-long stay.
Made up of children who have been orphaned by HIV or AIDS, the choir performed to present Watoto’s vision and to give audiences the opportunity to respond to Africa’s HIV/AIDS and war crisis.
The Watoto organisation takes groups of children around the world to promote its work in helping youngsters whose parents have died.
The non profit organisation that cares for orphan children in Uganda performed at Ryde Methodist Church, St Thomas’ Square, St John’s Church, Cowes High School and the Riverside Centre.
Christian Beasley of Virtually Wight produced a short (3 minute) video of the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda, when they visited Cowes High School and another (update) at St Thomas Newport on the Island.
