Ventnor Botanic Garden  is unrivalled for its collections of subtropical plants grown unprotected out of doors. Now with a new website providing information on a selection of what you will see should you choose to visit there’s virtually no reason for you not to visit this rare attraction.
 
The Botanic Garden at Ventnor is a place where the pleasure of plants can be enjoyed to the fullest and where people of all ages can learn more about the wonderful world of plants and the inextricable link that we have with them.

Run by the Isle of Wight Council, Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff.’ This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs it holds the warmth so well that its climate is more akin to the Mediterranean. This enables a wide variety of plants considered too tender for much of mainland Britain to be grown.

Throughout holiday periods and during some weekends public exhibitions of local artwork, crafts and displays are held in the Visitor Centre, which also hosts a small but developing horticultural reference library, gift shop and catering facility.
