Ventnor 2010 Becomes Isle of Arts
Nov 29th, 2009 | By Citizen Media | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseWe’ve just heard that the upcoming Ventnor 2010 Festival has a new name. From now on it is Isle of Arts.
The festival will be held as planned in Ventnor next spring. The new name, Isle of Arts, has been chosen to reflect the key goal of embracing and including the entire Island. From now on the new web address is www.artsisle.org
Isle of Arts is setting up an artistic board to help select the very best arts and music available for the festival. The arts board will include high profile people from the arts and media community – names to be announced soon.
Other initiatives currently underway include developing an outreach programme to engage children and young people in arts activity throughout the Spring 2010 term, culminating in the best of their work being included in the festival. Isle of Arts is also working with a panel of experts drawn from education and youth services to help shape this outreach programme.
“Isle of Arts is set to become a great umbrella brand to promote the Island’s fantastic artistic heritage and will help it to nurture Island talent,” says Isle of Arts spokesperson Gillian Jenner.
“This is a festival for the whole Island and the work we are doing with our artistic board and outreach advisers is building towards a great festival that includes everyone.”
