Two Charged For Blunder In Lapland
Nov 3rd, 2009 | By Carolyn Keene | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseIf you were wondering what happened after last years ‘Lapland New Forest’ christmas fiasco, look no further, as the BBC are reporting the news: Lapland organisers to face trial.
It appears Dorset Trading Standards are charging brothers Victor and Henry Mears, of Lapland New Forest Ltd, with nine charges of misleading consumers.
The Lapland theme park in the New Forest closed after hundreds of complaints last Christmas. Island Pulse mentioned at the time Blunderland in Lapland.
The advertisements described Lapland New Forest as ‘where dreams really do come true’.
Last year, Cliff Williams, who visited Lapland New Forest with his family from the Isle of Wight said:
There is nothing magical about this experience.
One hundred pounds plus a ferry fare from the Isle of Wight.. to queue for over 90 minutes to see father christmas, to be asked to pay a further £15.00 for a photo, join another long queue to receive a boys toy as they had run out of girls toys, a joke by any standard, but a very expensive one.
My advice get your children or grand children a better quality present take the other half for a meal and still save money.
If you already have tickets get your money back, this is definately not of merchantable quality.

Dorset County Council’s trading standards team said at the time it would start an investigation and as a result we can now see read BBC news here:
