Two Charged Following Assault In Ryde.
Jul 2nd, 2008 | By Vincent Woods | In: Community, Isle of Wight, NewsDetectives investigating an assault in Ryde have charged two people. Just after 1am on Saturday, June 28th, police were called to reports of a man being attacked by a group of people on Monkton Street.
The victim, a 29-year-old man from Ryde, was taken to hospital were he was treated for serious, but not life threatening, injuries. During the attack, he had his wallet and mobile phone stolen.
Samuel Turner, 23, from Warlands Lane in Shalfleet, was arrested and charged with ABH. A 17-year-old youth from Ryde was arrested and charged with theft and ABH.
Both were remanded in custody to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates.
