From today (Tuesday, 24th July) parking and traffic arrangements are taking place to facilitate the Royal Visit in Cowes of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday 25th July 2012.
All parking will be suspended on Cowes Parade from 9am today Tuesday 24th July until 5pm (latest) on Wednesday 25 July 2012 inconnection with the visit and no access will be available from the Castle Hill direction.
Vehicular access will be maintained to all properties in the area except between 7am and 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 25 July 2012 when no access will be possible.
Additional road closures will be in operation in certain roads in the Cowes Town area on Wednesday 25 July 2012.
Residents with parking permits for The Parade will be able to park in Council operated car parks, in Cross Street / St Mary’s Road and Brunswick Road on Tuesday 24 and on Wednesday 25 July 2012.
Any vehicles parked on The Parade after 9am on Tuesday 24 will be relocated to Mornington Road car Park.
Northwood Trustees will be operating a temporary event car park on the grass in Northwood House Park (weather permitting).
Additional car parks will be available at Park Road, Recreation Ground and at The Isle of Wight Community Club in Park Road (both weather permitting).
People travelling to Cowes for the Royal Visit should use the park and ride bus service from Church Litten (Newport) to Crossfield Avenue in Cowes or other public transport.
Buses will operate from 7am from Newport and returning unitil 1pm in Cowes.
Free parking will be available in Newport Car Parks on Wednesday from 8am until 1.30pm.
