Carolyn Keene reports:  The Quay Arts Centre are offering an unforgettable theatrical journey with an afternoon of live music, storytelling and magic for intrepid adults and brave children from age 7 plus with the THE JUNIPER TREE on Saturday 29th March at 3pm.

Goat & Monkey, a young company with a growing reputation for producing inventive and original theatre, have won national praise for their fresh approach to modern theatre.  This latest work fulfils all expectations.

A long time ago, in a time when witches still roamed, there lived a good and honest widower who married a woman whom he loved.  He had a son with rosy red cheeks, and she had a daughter who was good and honest.  But the wife was wicked and greedy, and when greed whispers into jealousy’s ear, strange things begin to happen …

‘Inspired by one of the Grimm Brothers’ grimmer tales, it is a story of evil stepmothers, loving sisters, murder and cannibalism.
