‘SPRING IS ABOUT’ An exhibition of Paintings by CHATSWORTH MEWS ART GROUP at the ‘Full Circle Exhibition Space, St. Mary’s Hospital March – June 2010.

The Chatsworth Mews Arts group are exhibiting their Spring collection at St. Mary’s Hospital, Newport.

The paintings are on display at the ‘Full Circle’ Exhibition Space for the public to view and purchase. 50% of any sales from their Spring Exhibition will be donated to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Audiology Department at St. Mary’s Hospital to support the purchase of new equipment and facilities.

Colleen Passfield, Artist and Tutor said:

“We hope staff, patients and visitors to the hospital get as much joy from viewing our paintings as we did painting them and we are pleased to be supporting the ENT and Audiology Department which provide a fantastic service for the Island.”

The Chatsworth Mews Arts group was formed in 2005 and is run by Colleen Passfield. Members of the group live across the East and South Wight towns and villages on the Island and meet regularly to work together as well as share their inspiration through the Internet where they view each others work in progress and exchange views and advice.

The group encourage and support each other to develop work in their own individual style, using and trying out different techniques and materials. As well as painting they also work in fabric and silkscreen printing.

The exhibition at St. Mary’s Hospital has been arranged by Healing Arts.   Guy Eades, Director of Healing Arts at NHS Isle of Wight says:

“We are always keen to support artists who wish to either make their work available for others receiving healthcare to enjoy or to raise funds for the provision of future healthcare. The Chatsworth Mews Art Group are doing both. Their exhibition is lively and enjoyable and we feel confident there is a picture everyone will like and so hopefully go on to support the Group’s objectives for the exhibition. Admission is Free and the exhibition can be viewed during normal Hospital opening times throughout the week”.
