Sports Club Directory For Isle of Wight
Nov 13th, 2009 | By Anna Price | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseSports clubs and associations on the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to get in touch with the Isle of Wight Council’s sports unit to ensure their up-to-date details are included in the 2010 Sports Club Directory.
Designed to be the definitive guide to sports clubs on the Island, it aims to provide details of every Island sports club and association along with information about the council’s sports development unit, national governing bodies, leisure centres, school sports partnerships and regional development officers.
The guide is updated each year and provides advice on how to get involved in a wide variety of sports, everything from bowls to badminton is included.
Cllr George Brown, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for the economy, tourism, leisure and planning said:
“As well as promoting the benefits of sport, the guide plays a useful role in updating clubs with important information such as training and coaching opportunities, accreditation and new sources of funding.”
Inclusion in the guide is free of charge to any sports based club on the Isle of Wight.
To request a form, contact the council’s sports unit on 01983 823818 or sports.unit@iow.gov.uk or alternatively complete the form online at www.iwight.com/sportsdirectory/SubmitClub.aspx. All entries must be received by 30 November 2009.
