Save Vestas Campaign Blog
Jul 23rd, 2009 | By Carolyn Keene | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse
A campaign blog has been set up aptly entitled Save Vestas for Vestas workers’ families and Isle of Wight residents to show their support for keeping jobs at Vestas.
No more the need for Island Pulse to spoon feed you titbits such as ‘Lock Out’ At Vestas , the Save Vestas Blog is an open opportunity for our readers to get the news on the Vesta occupation and the workers views first hand.
As you probably know from reading the news and watching the TV, workers at the Vestas wind turbine blade plant on the Isle of Wight have occupied the Vestas factory in Newport in an attempt to prevent its closure, which was scheduled for the end of this month.
Latest news on the Save Vestas Blog is the Channel 4 video news report covering the occupation and the movement supporting it.
Comments on the Save Vestas Blog are open for discussion and debate if you so wish and residents who want to support the campaign can do so financially by contributing a donation via PayPal.
As Ern said: This blog is fantastic as a news resource for those in solidarity but who can’t be close by. It’s also got a great sense of openness and democracy about it.
