Rapanui Eco Island Design Competition: Island Pulse Created the image displayed via Rapanui Templates.

On its credentials alone Isle of Wight based clothing company Rapanui  has a fair claim to being the greenest clothing company in the world. 

Now Rapanui  have launched a design competition, to find artwork, using the Rapanui ethos as the vehicle of inspiration.

Rapanui was set up by surfing brothers Rob and Mart Drake-Knight, who are motivated to influence environmental change and supply ethical, eco-friendly surfwear.

Mart’s studies in the field of Renewable Energy having given the brothers insight into the crisis our planet is facing and they want to make a difference.

In advance of their 2009 collection, Rapanui have launched the design competition in association with the Isle of Wight County Press to find new artwork that will be featured as part of the new collection.

Rob said:

“We want to leave it as open as possible. We want some funky, cool designs but we want to leave it open to people to do what they want to do,”

Rapanui would like artists to create designs for either a hoody or t-shirt, of which we include links to the design templates below.

As well as having the winning artwork included as a print in the range, the winner will receive a Rapanui garment featuring their design.

The closing date for entries is Friday, July 4th. The winner will be chosen by Rapanui and announced in the County Press and IWCP website, on Friday, August 1st.
