The street scene improvement programme, which is set to spread to more Island towns soon, includes a number of maintenance schemes designed to brighten up Island street scenes, making them more pleasant for residents and tourists.
Cllr Hunter-Henderson, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for environment and transport said:
“Residents and visitors to Ventnor can now enjoy a more attractive street scene thanks to this programme of work, which will create a more pleasant environment.
”While the council is spending millions of pounds on larger projects such as road maintenance schemes and Eco-loos, we also have to ensure that we pay due attention to the smaller details such as keeping our existing street furniture and signage well maintained.”
