Oct 16th, 2009 | By Simon Butler | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseIsle of Wight Council has received praise from one of the UK’s leading bus and rail consultants and author.
The Isle of Wight Public Transport Handbook has been described as ‘outstanding’ by Barry Doe in his latest review of timetable information booklets across the UK.
The booklet, which was first produced by IW Council in April 2007 and is updated three times a year, details timetables of the Island’s main public transport including ferries, buses and trains.
The booklet features local maps, an index, is colour coded to make it clearer and also features 12 pages on school transport and details about the Cowes Chain Ferry.
Copies of the handbook can be picked up from libraries, tourist information centres and council help centres.
