Police Appeal For Information On Attempted Robbery

Police on the Isle of Wight, are investigating reports of an attempted robbery in Cowes, where it’s alleged a golf club was used to attack a man.
 
Two men were walking along Pallance Road in Northwood, Cowes at around 1.45am on Tuesday, August 5th when they were approached by a group of five men.
 
One man, a 21-year-old from Newport, has told police he was hit over the head several times with what appeared to be a golf club.
 
The man carrying the golf club is alleged to have demanded a wallet.
 
No money was stolen during the attack, and the five men walked away in the direction of the Travellers Joy pub in Northwood.
 
The 21-year-old victim suffered a cut above his left eye, and minor head injuries.
 
He did not receive treatment in hospital.
 
One of the suspects is described as: Male, White, 19-years-old, 6 foot tall, Medium build, Pale complexion, Heavy set, dark eyebrows, Short blond hair.
 
He was wearing a dark grey hooded top.
 
A second suspect is described as: Male White, 19-years-old, 5 foot 10 inches tall. He was wearing navy / dark blue clothes.
