Anyone looking for advice on how to get involved in full time paid or voluntary work on the Isle of Wight can find lots of information at an event next month in Ventnor.

On Wednesday 4th November, an ‘Opportunities Day’ is being held at Ventnor Botanic Garden (pictured) between 1030 – 1530.

The event allows businesses and organisations to show ways for people to become involved in both paid and voluntary work. Amongst those who will be exhibiting include local businesses and recruitment agencies, voluntary organisations and Hampshire Constabulary, which will be giving out information on how to become a special constable or a police volunteer.

Any visitors will also be given a raffle ticket and entered into a free draw to win one of two £50 high street vouchers. Two draws will take place, one at 1200 and the second at 1500. Winners must be present to collect their prize or it will be re-drawn.

The event is open to all Island residents of all ages and has been organised by the Isle of Wight Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, of which Isle of Wight Council is a member.

More information on the day can be obtained by calling (01983) 550980
