This weekend, the ONEWIGHT campaign unveils its campaign bus and will be asking Islanders to sign the bus – literally.
The open-top double-decker bus, lent by Southern Vectis, will be in Ryde on Saturday afternoon. Islanders and anyone else who want to support ONEWIGHT will be able to write their name on the side of the vehicle – and sign the Parliamentary petition on board too. Elsewhere on the Island petition teams will be in Newport and at the Chale Show.
Southern Vectis are one of a number of Island companies supporting the campaign.
The ONEWIGHT campaign is a cross-party campaign to keep the Isle of Wight united as a single Parliamentary constituency, opposing Whitehall plans to divide the Island.
More than 4,200 people have now signed the ONEWIGHT petition, with hundreds more expected to do so at events this weekend. Shops and business premises across the Island also have copies of the petition being signed by the public, so the final figure at the end of the campaign should be significantly higher.
