GET INVOLVED: ‘ROCK UP’ PROGRAMME
Back by popular demand, Ondeck’s ‘Rock Up’ initiative makes it possible for everyone to get out on the water. Whether it’s watching all the action on the race course from a fast, thrilling RIB powerboat or taking part as a racing crew for a day aboard one of Ondeck’s fleet of yachts in the regatta’s busy racing schedule. Ondeck’s affordable and accessible ‘Rock Up and Race’ and ‘Rock Up and RIB’ experiences can be booked in advance or, as the expression goes, just rock up to their stand in Cowes Yacht Haven to book a slot. Several crew spaces to race at Cowes Week are made available each day on a range of fully equipped yachts owned by Ondeck.
SUPPORTING LOCAL RISING STAR
Ondeck along with their charter clients were in the top three fundraising teams at the recent J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race and the crew at Ondeck also keep an eye out for gifted up and coming local sailing talent. One such sailor is 15-year old Robbie Southwell from Cowes who is one of the youngest competitors racing at this year Cowes Week. Ondeck will be supporting Robbie and helping raise awareness of his fundraising activities via a sponsored Cycle, Swim and Sail on 17th August on the Island on behalf of the Cowes RNLI Lifeboat Station. Look out for the Press/Photocall on the RNLI charity day after racing on Monday 2nd August.
SPONSORING COWES RADIO REGATTA REPORT
Once again, Ondeck are proud sponsors of Cowes Radio’s Regatta Report with presenter Cheryl Buggy and her team broadcasting live from Ondeck’s VIP Hospitality Suite. Interviews with people at the centre of the day’s action, classified race results and just what went on out on the race course, it’s essential listening. There may also be some guest appearances and a famous face or two.
HOSTING LADIES DAY AND OTHER EVENTS
The lively Ondeck Hospitality area will also play host to a number of events and functions throughout the Week including: The Ladies Day Trophy Awards for media, guests and nominees at 1800 on Wednesday 4TH August at 1800 and Mount Gay’s brand ambassador and mixologist (great job) all the way from Barbados, the home of Mount Gay Rum will ‘mix’ it up after a Mount Gay Race day for guests, showing them how to make and serve the perfect cocktail.
