OFSTED Gaff At Wight Spelling.

Oct 17th, 2007 | By Editor | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Old News and hardly worth note, but the Daily Newspapers now take great delight in:  Authors of a government report praising education standards on the Isle of Wight were left red-faced after repeatedly spelling the island’s name wrongly.

The Ofsted annual report, due to be read out in the House of Commons today by Education Secretary Ed Balls, spells the name White throughout the document. Ofsted press officer Caroline Jack said: ”I am extremely embarrassed.”

Editor @Island Pulse contacted Caroline Jack yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) and the obvious mistake was corrected asap before the embargo press release of 10 am today.
