Island Pulse Contact Details:
Island Pulse Online Community Portal aims to provide an informative insight into the many different facets of Isle of Wight life.
With help from Islanders as ‘citizen journalists’ our aim is that the website content will grow to be full of interesting articles and information about the Isle of Wight.
We hope everyone will enjoy becoming inter-active in reading the pages and pro-active in submitting news articles, personal views and photographs.
Island Pulse a work in progress will add benefit to all members of the Island Community, our Team welcomes suggestions and feedback, as such changes and additions will be made daily to the website.

Island Pulse Submission Requirements:
News items and articles must appeal in general to the island population and centre on community interest. When submitting articles (copy) please indicate whether it is for Citizen Journalism or Breaking News as in some cases, items may be featured in other categories. Whilst the Island Pulse is not advertiser led Island Businesses may also submit news articles and press releases; however, we will not accept conflicting views on another business as part of any rivalry.
Articles at present are to be submitted via email in plain text, please try to include a small headline a brief summary and article content of no more than 350 words. Images that you may supply to run with the article require a caption naming any people with their position in the picture, be jpeg no larger than 500 pixels on longest side and no bigger than 60kb.
Please give your full name, e-mail address and postcode, if you would prefer to remain anonymous then simply state in your correspondence to the Editor that you do not wish your personal details to be displayed or published. (please read website Terms) For any article with more than one author, we require the names of everyone who contributed to the article.
If you have written the bulk of your article from other sources e.g. News Items: please prepare along with your submission a small bibliography (named list) of where the information came from such as newspaper, newsletter, website etc.
Ensure that your work is ready to be seen check spellings and proofread prior to sending, better still, have someone else read your article before submission. Please check all facts, sources, and statistics as the Editor reserves the right to select items for inclusion and to edit all items submitted.
Please Note: Island Pulse is a non profit enterprise and as such cannot make payment for articles or images.
In submitting copy and images copyright remains with the individual, as a contributor you are granting Island Pulse a non exclusive license to publish.
You may exhibit your copy elsewhere if you wish, however, if you submit a work that has already been published on the internet, please provide only the URL and we will link to your article.

Privacy is an essential issue that Island Pulse takes very seriously, this section outlines how any information submitted or collected via the Island Pulse Website and Editorial is treated, as such forms part of the Terms and Conditions of this site, Island Pulse may modify this Policy as and when relevant legislation dictates.
Island Pulse with guidance of Data Protection Act 1998, will not interfere with the freedom and privacy of those visiting our website, nor provide information about our visitors to third parties, we may however use information that you personally submit via email to us to communicate with you. Copyright of any singular article submitted and published on the Island Pulse website remains with the author/photographer, it is not our policy to knowingly use images and text from other websites or publications. If information is received that relates to transgression of the above Island Pulse will not accept liability, and reserve the right to immediately delete such articles and forward on details of any such individuals to aggrieved or legal parties.
It is Island Pulse policy to take privacy issues very seriously and keeping all information secure is very important to us, although we will effect all reasonable measures to safeguard legitimate information concerning individuals, please note that we cannot guarantee that any information transmitted over the internet is totally secure.
The information practices of any website linked via Island Pulse are not covered by this privacy policy. We encourage visitors to be aware when they leave Island Pulse, to read the privacy policies of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

Members of the Community may send News and Articles for publication on the Island Pulse website. Please ensure before submitting any Images for inclusion that you have the authorisation and or copyright permissions to do so.
