At the start of a new era for the Isle of Wight and the world’s oldest and largest sailing regatta of its kind, Cowes Week Limited has appointed award-winning consumer lifestyle agency Focus PR to carry out its media communications in 2009.
With only 221 days to go as Cowes Week takes place between 1st-9th August 2009, the nine-month integrated PR programme with the Focus PR Team (pictured ©Cowes Week Ltd) will continue to build the positive reputation of Cowes Week with sailors and non-sailors alike.
CEO of Cowes Week Limited, Stuart Quarrie comments:
“ Cowes Week is proud of its heritage, and maintaining the integrity of the regatta whilst evolving it to ensure its relevance for today’s audience is key to its success,”
“Focus PR impressed us with their knowledge of the sailing and lifestyle media and their creative approach to our brief. We’re delighted to have them on board for Cowes Week 2009.”
Founded in 1991, Focus PR has an established track record in events and consumer lifestyle PR, and successfully worked with Cowes Week on behalf of Cockburn’s Port in 2007.
The Focus PR account team is headed up by Hilary Meacham, with account directors Sally Alexander and Julie Thompson Dredge, senior account executive Caroline Reincke and team assistants Lucy Carroll and Victoria Rhodes in support.
They will take over Peta Stuart-Hunt’s responsibilities with immediate effect, and will continue the excellent work that Peta has done as the Press Officer of Cowes Week for the last eight years.
