Needles XC Marathon Run On Sunday.
May 31st, 2008 | By Carolyn Keene | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseThe Needles XC Half/Full Marathon will be taking place Sunday 1st June 2008. Organised by West Wight Road Runners, they have already received 203 advance entries for the full and half Marathon. This is already up from last year so expect a record turnout.
There will be some spot prizes – you never know, you could be lucky! however all finishers will receive a commemorative medal and individual Team Prize awards.
Starting at 10am at: West Wight Sports Centre, Moa Place, Freshwater, Isle of Wight. This is an unmarshalled event however, there will be checkpoints and some course indicating arrows. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs etc.
Presentation of the trophies will take place at 12:30 for the Half Marathon, and 2:30 for the Marathon. This years trophies have been made by Diamond Isle Sculptured Glass.

Feel free to turn up to any of the club nights usually held in the West Wight. We meet at 7.15 p.m on Wednesday nights at West Wight Sports Centre during dark winter months, and in various rural locations in the summer.
Members are also able to represent the club in races, both local and as a part of the Hampshire Road Race League.
