Mighty Bestival Pair Reach UK Festival Awards Shortlist
Oct 15th, 2009 | By Simon Blackmore | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseThanks to your unstinting support and your all-important votes, we’re pretty darn chuffed to have made the shortlists 7 times for this year’s Festival Awards. Spread across 5 categories, we’re pleased as punch that Bestival and Camp Bestival are in with a real chance of winning some coveted awards again, but we’re going to need your help!
WE’VE BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR A MIGHTY 7 AWARDS: PLEASE VOTE NOW AT www.festivalawards.com as VOTING CLOSES 4th NOVEMBER
Bathed in golden sunshine all weekend long, our maverick team of funsters strived harder than ever to make sure that Bestival returned bigger and better this year, so we’re especially pleased to have been shortlisted for Best Medium Sized Festival, Best Headline Act for the frankly magnificent Kraftwerk, Best Dance Event for the non-stop cornucopia of grooves that kept us all bouncing and the Virtual Festivals Critics’ Choice Award for Carl Cox’s euphoric old skool set.
Camp Bestival’s second year saw a host of refinements to the campsites, amenities and the all-round entertainment to make sure that everyone from the tiniest tots to grannies and gramps had the best possible time, which is why we are ecstatically happy to be up for the Family Festival Award – that nomination means a lot to us! But it doesn’t stop there, because Camp Bestival is also nominated for Best Dance Event – lest we forget that amongst all the family fun, we boasted a stupendously fat line up of DJs and soundsystem action across the weekend – and the Virtual Festivals Critics’ Choice Award, this time for Bon Iver’s spellbinding set in the Big Top.
This really is the critical stage of the voting, which is once again determined by you, the public! Even if you voted in the first round you can now vote again, so show us your much-appreciated love and support and head over to www.festivalawards.com and please vote!
Voting for this final round closes on 4th November and don’t forget that by voting you’ll be entered into a competition to win a pair of tickets to every single winning festival next year – that could be more than 10 festivals!
