Kate has been challenged to write at least 100 A5 pages by hand during an 18-day trip from Beijing to Moscow on the Trans-Siberian Railway, starting in mid-September.
She has already paid for the trip and intends to raise at least £10,000 for the hospice. All the money raised by the Trans-Siberian Writing Challenge will go to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill patients on the Isle of Wight.
Kate, who has worked for the IWCP for 12 years, hopes the resulting travel diary-style book will also be published and a percentage of any sales also go to the hospice.
