Special Isle of Wight Christmas treat at Cineworld on 19th December ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ is back on the big screen and presented in a new frame-by-frame digital restoration.
Starring the unforgettable James Stewart as George Bailey, and a superb ensemble cast including Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore, this high-spirited Christmas tale is directed by the immortal Frank Capra and ranks as an all-time favourite of fans and critics alike.
If you haven’t seen it, the film takes place in the fictional town of Bedford Falls shortly after World War II. James Stewart stars as George Bailey, a man whose attempted suicide on Christmas Eve gains the attention of a guardian angel, Clarence (Henry Travers) is sent to help him in his hour of need. We see all of the people whose lives have been touched by George and the difference he has made to the community in which he lives.
The film is regarded as a classic and is a staple of Christmas television around the world and I defy anyone not to shed a tear! There’s plenty of Christmas movies, but let’s be honest, Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life’ stands head and shoulders above the rest.Â
