Isle of Wight ‘WOW FACTOR’ Photo Competition

The WOW FACTOR! is the Quay Arts’ Young People’s Photography Competition for ages 14 – 18 years.
An idea borne from two visiting work experience Medina High students has given rise to the launch of a new competition for young photographers.
Jess Smith and Lydia Denham worked on a mini Visual Arts project when they came up with the brilliant idea. They decided to create something to get young people involved with Quay Arts.
Have you ever taken an awesome photo on your mobile phone? Are you studying Photography at school? Whether its extreme sports, fashion, inspiring landscapes or something really unusual, then Quay Arts’ want to see it!
Don’t just leave it on Facebook.. this is your chance to have your Photos exhibited at Quay Arts and spend a day with one of the Isle of Wight’s leading Photographers; gaining first hand experience on how to create Photos that really have the WOW FACTOR!
All photos will be judged by a panel of photography experts that will select 20 to be printed and framed by Quay Arts. The 20 shortlist will be displayed in an exhibition from Sat 28 Nov 2009 – Sat 9 Jan 2010 in the Learning Curve Gallery and the overall winner will be chosen by public vote and announced at the end of the exhibition.

WOW FACTOR! is the Quay Arts’ Young People’s Photography Competition: Terms and Conditions:
There is a £1 entry fee and submissions will only be accepted via email. All
images must be 300dpi, no larger than 29.7 × 42cm and able to print onto
A3 paper.
You can submit up to 3 images
Email your images to g.newman@quayarts.org
Your emailed submission must include:
• Name
• Address
• Telephone/mob no
• Date of Birth
• How many images you wish to submit
• Titles of images
• Email addressOnce you have emailed your submission, you must pay your £1 entry fee
at Quay Arts reception referencing your name given on the email and your
email address. You will have up to one week from the date of your email to
pay your £1 entry fee. If you do not pay your entry fee, you will not go
through to the competition.All shortlisted entries to be entered into the exhibition competition will be
notified in writing via email by Mon 26 Oct.
• Quay Arts reserves the right to use images of submitted designs to publicise the competition
• The production and display of the chosen shortlist is at the discretion of the selection panel.
• The selection panel’s decision is final.
• Applications will not be considered if received after the closing date.
