Isle of Wight Weather News

Dec 18th, 2009 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Isle of Wight Snow DayAs  Island Pulse predicted earlier this week thanks to our Isle of Wight Weather reports from Wroxall Weather, Metcheck and Netweather a flurry of snow has arrived across the Island.

With a dozen new gritting vehicles and ample salt for the roads, traffic is expected to keep moving on the Island.

However the Met Office has issued a severe weather warning across England and road users are being advised to check the weather forecast and road conditions before they travel as heavy snowfall is expected.  An early warning for all drivers: make sure you are properly prepared for the conditions by checking weather and traffic conditions before setting out.

Up-to-date information on major road conditions is available on the Highways Agency website at www.highways.gov.uk/trafficinfo or by calling 08457 504030.
