The multi-award winning Isle of Wight Walking Festival is looking for a new title sponsor.

The two-week event, that last year attracted over 22,500 participants from across the UK and media coverage from around the world, is looking for a new sponsor to replace Ordnance Survey which has ended its successful association with the event after six years.

The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is organised by the Isle of Wight Council and comprises over 300 walks aimed at participants of all ages and ability and focuses on encouraging people to get out walking to keep fit and healthy. Amongst the themed walks are those which celebrate the unique profile of the Island’s culture and geography. Not forgetting those that have generated huge publicity in their own right is the annual speed dating walk that has resulted in three marriages and potential for a fourth.

Cllr George Brown, IW Council cabinet member with responsibility for tourism added:

“In recent years the Isle of Wight Walking Festival has emerged as not only the largest event of its kind in the UK but also the most diverse. It offers potential sponsors a huge range of opportunities and markets.”
