Newport Parish Council are organising a Christmas Lights switch on event on Monday 24th November at 4.30pm in St Thomas Square.

The High Sheriff, Alan Titchmarsh will be performing the switch on, with music from Nodehill Brass Band from 4pm followed by the Carisbrooke Jazz Band and there will also be a Christmas Farmers Market.

This year Newport will see a new look to its Christmas lights, with natural trees lit in Church Litten and St Thomas Square and new displays in South Street and Nodehill.

The traditional Xmas tree (donated by Morey’s) will be in St James Square and the High Street will have the lighting columns lit with Angels on the Guildhall.
