The closing date is rapidly approaching for this year’s Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year (IWPOY) and the organisers are pleased to confirm that Essential will once again provide the high quality canvas prints for the top three winners.
With a top prize for the winner of spending a day with an Isle of Wight County Press photographer and the possibility of having work published in the local newspaper, this is definately one competition Island photographers should not miss out on.

There has already been a great diversity of images uploaded in the IWPOY Galleries and the judges will have a very difficult task.

IWPOY Winners Dimbola Lodge: Stuart Dahl, Kevin Mitchell and Dick Loaring with their winning images on display at Dimbola Lodge: All images published remain the copyright of the individual photographer. IWPOY images/trademark or logo may not be reproduced, used, stored or published on any other medium without first contacting IWPOY for permission and license of use.

All fifty IWPOY 2007 shortlisted entries will be exhibited both at the Quay Arts and Dimbola Lodge in 2008 and through their support everyone will be able to recognise and appreciate the fantastic photographic talent that we have here on the Isle of Wight.

Entry into the IWPOY 2007 photography competition is free, themed as ‘lifestyles’ the maximum of three images must have been taken on the Isle of Wight by a resident in the last year and reflect Island people, places, events, leisure or work activities. This theme is fairly open but please note images not meeting this criteria may well be overlooked by the Judges on the closing date of 18th October 2007.

Simply upload your images for the IWPOY 2007 Competition online Click HERE: IWPOY.

All entrants must register and submit their details and organisers will attempt to respond to the registration request, within 72 hours, at which you will be supplied with a password and login details.

Details and pictorials for those entrants unsure of how to resize their Images for the Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year 2007 are provided in the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group online Digital Foyer Forum Click HERE:

All images will be judged by the panel and short-listed entries are to be displayed in the online IWPOY 2007 Gallery within 21 days after the competition closes, after which the short-listed entrants will be invited to attend the Final Awards presentation evening.

The organisers are very much looking forward to the IWPOY 2007 Awards Presentation evening later this year and would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors, supporters and of course, all of you, the Island’s photographers who enter the competition. Good Luck to everyone and we hope to soon be able to add you to the shortlist!

Please Note: All images published remain the copyright of the individual photographer. IWPOY images/trademark or logo may not be reproduced, used, stored or published on any medium without first contacting IWPOY for permission and license of use.
