Isle of Wight Photo Agency Focus On Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

Keen photographers from across the Isle of Wight have created a picture perfect photographic record of Island community celebrations during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

It was a very good start for the photographers as they are also supporting the first ever UK National Photography Month in which the ethos is ‘capture and keep’.

During the extended Bank Holiday Weekend, Garden parties, Street parties, Big Lunches and bunting galore radiated out from the central town of Newport across the entire Isle of Wight.

From the Cool Britannia Parade in Ryde and Appley Park, jolly good entertainment in Freshwater, to a nautical feel in Cowes and Bembridge. In East Cowes the former Queen Victoria celebrated a re-enactment of her own Diamond Jubilee with hundreds of subjects at her favourite Royal residence of Osborne House.

Over 400 images were taken throughout the extended weekend and can be viewed on the Isle of Wight Photo Agency website www.wightphoto.com/diamond_jubilee

Contributing Photographers include: John Sparrow, Verena Sparrow, Bob Bowers, Michael Cooper, Chris Cornforth, Terry Smith, Gary Early, Amanda Johnson, Marianne Fricker, Jim Curtis, David Webb, Daphne Williams.
