Isle of Wight ‘Old Quarr’ is a Building at Risk.
Jul 24th, 2007 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseEnglish Heritage today launched the South East edition of its Buildings at Risk Register 2007. Whilst the register focuses on the success of buildings coming off the Register, it highlights Old Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight as requiring large amounts of funding.

The Buildings at Risk Register is an online database of all the Grade I and II listed buildings and structural Scheduled Ancient Monuments in England at risk through neglect and decay, or vulnerable to becoming so.
Old Quarr Abbey evocative but fragmentary remains of a Medieval Abbey standing in idyllic fields near the north shore of the Isle of Wight, and in the grounds of Quarr Abbey a functioning Benedictine monastery.
Old Quarr has a conservation deficit of £2 million, it urgently requires consolidation to avoid further loss, but also to make access and understanding possible.
In an advanced state of decline due to neglect and vegetation growth, English Heritage has carried out a photographic and a condition survey, discussions are now taking place on a repair programme.
