The Isle of Wight has come out within the top three of a survey by ‘locallife’ as one of the best prepared to take advantage of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Tony Martin, chairman of locallife.co.uk, which carried out the research, said:

“With more than 200 nations competing in the 2012 Olympics, many international teams are looking for bases in the UK for during the London Olympics and for training camps.

“Businesses in towns who successfully woo these teams stand to benefit hugely.

Reading came first with Peterborough and the Isle of Wight completing the top three.
