Cyberbullying Kids laugh at it and your part of it.

The Government this week launched an online cyberbullying campaign, to tackle bullies who use the internet or mobile phones to bully or abuse others, making it clear that no form of bullying should be tolerated.

The government campaign also reminds parents whose children bully classmates or teachers by mobile phone or the internet that they could face parenting orders and fines of up to £1,000 if they fail to put a stop to their child’s actions.

The online campaign, ‘Laugh at it and you’re a part of it’, will feature on websites and social networking sites used by teenagers such as Bebo, MySpace, Yahoo and MSN and aims to challenge young people’s views and feelings about passing on cruel videos or messages by highlighting the consequences of these actions.

The campaign is backed by the mobile phone and internet industries, as well as children’s charities and teaching unions. It follows complaints from teachers, pupils and parents that cyber-bullying is ruining lives and has got out of control.

The campaign aims to make it a social taboo to take part in cyberbullying by encouraging teenagers to think how they would feel if they were the victim.

Bullying in our schools should be taken very seriously; it is not a normal part of growing up and it can ruin lives. For more information from Teachernet Click HERE:
