During the recent Medina High School Arts Blast Week Fusion Magazine produced by students with a drive and enthusiasm for media studies, unleashed their High School blend of editorial, creating a voice for young people on the Isle of Wight.

Fusion magazine launched on 9th July has now reached the heights on the Isle of Wight by being recognised in the only local newspapers online edition.

From Festival Funk 2007 to the Real World of local business and careers, it was refreshing to see so many business people and members of the local council supporting this Island project, long may it continue.

FUSION OF IDEAS FOR SCHOOL MAGAZINE

“A magazine created by an editorial team of Medina High School students and aimed at the youth market was officially launched during the school’s annual arts week.
The 32-page quarterly publication Fusion, was the main focus of Arts Blast week at Newport’s Quay Arts.

Dignatories included the Island’s High Sheriff Lt Col David Langford, Island MP Andrew Turner and IW Council former chairman Cllr Charles Chapman.

A free 20-minute documentary about this year’s IW Festival on DVD, which accompanied the magazine, was also screened. It was produced by a different group of Medina students working under the expert eye of producer/director John Nutter.”
