Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings was tweeting at the weekend that there would be news of  a “big announcement” on Monday morning at 8am and here it is… from Isle of Wight Radio: Jay-Z, The Strokes, Blondie, Pink, Orbital and Squeeze have been booked for next year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

John Giddings, the Festival promoter, says :

“Ever since I heard the first Strokes album, I’ve wanted them for the Isle of Wight. Jay-Z and Pink are two of the best live acts I have ever seen and the Blondie hits speak for themselves. I can’t wait!

The iconic Isle of Wight Festival, Friday 11th – Sunday 13th June, is back with a bang for 2010 as a host of international superstars including Jay-Z, The Strokes, Blondie, Pink, Orbital and Squeeze are set to descend on Seaclose Park, kicking off the festival season in true Isle of Wight style!

Now in the ninth year since its reincarnation,  the Isle of Wight Festival is steeped in musical heritage and magical memories. The Festival is renowned  for bringing in the biggest names as well as showcasing new and upcoming talent and this year will be no exception.

Tickets to the 2010 Isle Of Wight Festival will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 4th December and will be available from the following outlets:
