Isle of Wight Experience Lifting The Mask At Quay Arts.

To mark Black History Month and the Bicentennial of the Abolitiion of Slavery, the Quay Arts in Newport are presenting the Isle of Wight with an experience not to be missed in ’Lifting the Mask’ on Monday 15th October.
Lifting the Mask is a new musical celebrating the life and lyrics of Paul Laurence Dunbar, aside those of Tennessee Williams and Shakespeare. Set backstage in a British theatre during Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1897, Lifting the Mask honours themes ranging from love and loneliness to slavery and its historic abolition.
