Severe Weather Refuse Collections
Dec 3rd, 2009 | By Island Pulse | Isle of Wight News From The Island PulseNews Updated Wednesday 13th January: The timetable for Christmas and New Year Collections below no longer applies.
Due to the severe weather conditions there is ongoing disruption to refuse and recycling collections. The council’s waste management contractor Island Waste Services will regularly review the situation.
Residents are advised that if their road is clear of snow and ice to put their waste out on Wednesday, if their normal collection day is a Wednesday; on Thursday, if their normal collection day is a Thursday and on Friday, if their normal collection day is a Friday. Island Waste will endeavour to collect as much of the refuse as is safely possible. N.B. If your waste has not been collected by the end of your normal collection day, then please securely store your waste until your next normal collection day. Collections will finish at the end of Friday and there will be no collections on Saturday to allow the Household Waste Recycling Centres to open normal hours.
Weather permitting collections will begin on Monday with normal service resumed i.e Mondays collections and B Week recycling.
