Island High Sheriff Draws Minster Garden Prize

The Friends of Newport Minster are delighted to announce a garden as seen at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and then donated as a raffle prize to benefit Minster restoration funds has been won by Mo Hayes from Cowes.
Tickets to win the ‘Catherine Parr’ garden which was kindly donated by the designer Yvonne Mathews were only £1 each.
Mrs Gay Edwards, Isle of Wight High Sheriff (pictured) drew the winning raffle ticket at the Friends of Newport Minster Autumn Raffle.
Mo Hayes said
“How exciting I bought one ticket and my friend from the mainland bought one for me as she knew how much I wanted to win this lovely garden”.
The garden designed by Yvonne Mathews, dedicated to Catherine Parr, is 8 x 6 feet and comprises a slate grey wall with stained glass windows, a chamomile topped circular seat, plants and will include DIY guidance notes.
