Interactive Crime Map

Nov 16th, 2009 | By Carolyn Keene | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

A new interactive online map that allows users to compare crime rates across different towns by simply inserting their postcode has been launched.

CrimeMapper looks especially easy to use to detect levels of crime on the Isle of Wight.  It colour codes areas based on levels of reporting crime and gives rates for burglaries and robberies among other offences.

You will also be able to access the details of your local neighbourhood policing team, policing priorities and information on the policing pledge

Check out your patch and remember to revisit the map to see what crimes are going up and down.

All you have to do is pop in your postcode.  The service is intended to boost confidence in local policing – have a look click here:

CrimeMapper is provided courtesy of the: National Policing Improvement Agency which is a policing organisation acting as a central resource to the police service, working for ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers), APA (Association of Police Authorities) and the Home Office to improve the delivery of policing.
