Icy Conditions Delay Refuse Collections

Dec 23rd, 2009 | By Simon Butler | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

Isle of Wight Council would like to inform residents that today’s (Wednesday 23 December) scheduled refuse and recycling collections may be delayed by several hours.

This is due to the icy conditions on the roads, which are making it difficult for the refuse lorries to visit certain roads.

Residents may find that their refuse and recycling waste may be collected up to six hours later than normal.

The council asks residents not to report that their waste has not been collected, as it should be picked up later today.

However, if a collection was due yesterday or it is not picked up at all today, then residents should contact the council on 821000.
