Aug 12th, 2009 | By Amanda Johnson | Isle of Wight News From The Island Pulse

ICAP Leopard the record-holding yacht in the Rolex Fastnet Race has again finished the race first by crossing the Plymouth breakwater.  A total of 300 yachts took part in this year’s 608-mile dash from Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Mike Slade’s 100ft catamaran Canting Keel Maxi ICAP Leopard completed the race in two days, 11 hours, nine minutes and 36 seconds.

Owner Mike and some of the crew will be interviewed later today about their 608 mile race and how it feels to be the first across the finish line. They did not break their previous record but win the Erroll Bruce Cup for Line Honours and a Rolex Yachtmaster timepiece.
